High School Students:
The Summer Legal Empowerment Program is a 4-week long program created for motivated high school students. In these 4 weeks, those selected will have the unique opportunity to learn and participate in legal awareness and literacy clinics in the community. From working in the legal call center to assisting in setting up and running an awareness clinic, this will surely allow students to hone their analytical and creative skills.
College Students:
The Summer Research Program is open to those currently pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees. Successful applicants will find themselves immersed in data and analyzing it to understand the problems present in the judicial system of Pakistan. This is a valuable opportunity for students to develop their research and analytical skills.
Law School Graduates:
The pupilage program is available to law graduates who are looking to pursue a criminal law career in Sindh. As the LAS in partnership with the CWP manages the country’s largest legal aid program, this is a very competitive internship. It will give successful applicants the ability to shadow lawyers to courtrooms to learn about the daily workings of a lawyer and a courtroom. Furthermore, it will introduce to the students how to properly interview clients with regular jail visits. This program will encompass everything a criminal lawyer goes through and will be immensely helpful to those just beginning in the field.
