What makes NAZ Assist Different
Comprehensive Legal Knowledge Base
Since 2014, our free-of-cost legal advisory call center has received over 450,000 calls from 600 towns, villages, and cities across Pakistan. Every caller that reaches out to us is provided with a legal remedy under the watchful eye of Chief Legal Advisor of Legal Aid Society (LAS) Justice (Retd) Arif Hussain Khilji. Over a decade of experience has enabled us to uniquely understand the different legal issues facing Pakistanis. Previously, we used the accumulated data to identify gaps in policy and lobby lawmakers to close them, but now we are using it to make quality legal advice as democratic as possible.

What is NAZ Assist?
NAZ Assist is a legal chatbot developed by the Legal Aid Society (LAS) of Pakistan, inspired by the vision of its founder, Justice (Retd) Nasir Aslam Zahid. This AI-powered tool is designed to provide accessible legal guidance to all citizens, embodying Justice (Retd) Nasir Aslam Zahid’s lifelong commitment to advocacy for legal rights and Justice for all.
How it all Started?
It all started with the dream of Justice (Retd) Nasir Aslam Zahid, former Chief Justice of Sindh High Court, to spread Justice for All Pakistanis at all times, irrespective of their caste, gender, religion, and economic background. After retirement, he set up a free advice desk outside court to serve his fellow countrymen and women. In 2014, he achieved a significant milestone with the launch of the Legal Advisory Call Center (LACC) with funding from the British High Commission. The center soon became the Sindh Legal Advisory Call Center (SLACC) under the landmark public-private partnership with the Sindh Government in 2018. A decade of service later, the dream to enable quality Justice has been expedited under the leadership of his daughter and CEO of Legal Aid Society (LAS) Barrister Haya Eman Zahid, who commissioned the project to leverage AI with insights and domain expertise the organization had been building for over a decade. By combining the 24/7 accessibility of AI technology with the expertise of human legal professionals, LAS now brings Justice closer to every citizen of Pakistan.
